The Imperial floor at the Westin St. Francis just received a marvelous makeover and in celebration the legendary San Francisco landmark put on a bash with over a hundred top wedding and event professionals from around the Bay Area. Among them in attendance was the world-renowned wedding and event designer David Beahm who was asked to bring his keen insight and experience at a talk to kick of the bash. The soiree took place at the grand reopening of the newly renovated Victor’s Palace and Alexdandra’s Ballrooms. It was an event to behold with appetizers, lavish deserts, and signatures cocktails catering to a crowd that is well familiar with what a spectacular event should look and feel like. They weren’t disappointed. With a simply stunning décor on the 32nd floor of this legendary hotel in the heart of San Francisco, it is no wonder that it has become one of the most sought after venues nation wide.

World renowned celebrity wedding and event designer, David Beahm, best known for the “Wedding of the Century”  the marriage of Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas, sat down with Elle Couture to share some of his thoughts on what makes the Imperial Floor such a magnificent location for couples to tie the knot. He described ballroom floor as an Art Deco masterpiece with very few similar locations left in the world. It is a gorgeous venue that needs little else to create a spectacular evening. One of the key attractions at the Imperial floor is clear and unobstructed panoramic view of the picturesque San Francisco. To all sides lay the city by the bay in all of its glitz and splendor.

A Bay Area landmark first constructed in 1903, it provides an elegant and memorable location as well as an unforgettable evening for one of the most important days in a couple’s life. Beautiful towering pillars and intricate draping curtains line the parameter of this art deco fantasy. Fourteen feet high French windows overlook Union Square and the city’s skyline. A beautiful glass and fabric chandelier with a purple translucent glow provides  gorgeous illumination for the ballroom. Hand painted walls give a warm and elaborate yet personal touch to the space. The linens and decorations for the evening were provided by Blue Print Studios who wonderfully complemented the renovation and ballroom décor in regal fashion. For a really unique and wonderful wedding celebration the Imperial Floor at the Westin St. Francis is truly a gift all in on it’s own!
